Today, the Board of Supervisors for the University of ������ο��Ƶ voted unanimously to name Dr. Wade Rousse as the next president of McNeese State University. 

“I would like to thank the System Board and President Gallot for the opportunity to serve McNeese State University’s students, faculty and staff, and the Southwest region as the University’s next president,” Rousse said. “I also want to thank all of the faculty members, community members, and colleagues who inspired us to step into this new role, where we can have greater impact. We do not take this responsibility lightly and will hit the ground running as soon as we’ve been given the clearance to start.” 

The McNeese Presidential Search Committee narrowed the field to two finalists, Dr. Andy Benoit and Rousse after interviewing four semifinalists on campus last week. 

“Dr. Rousse’s appointment ensures a president who is prepared to make an immediate and enduring impact,” ������ο��Ƶ System President and CEO Rick Gallot said. “McNeese is poised to thrive under his vision, ability to form and maintain relationships, and student-centered focus.” 

A two-time graduate of ������ο��Ƶ System member institutions, Rousse has served McNeese in various roles since 2019: dean and professor in the College of Business, vice president of university advancement, and executive vice president. 

Gallot and Board Chair Dr. Jimmy Clarke are authorized to negotiate Rousse’s start date.
